FRIDAY, APRIL 19 FROM 6-12PM // THE REFUGE

WHAT TO EXPECT

STUDY: Take a 6 hour deep dive to study God’s epic tale of redemption in the story of Ruth. It’s a story that reminds us that each of our lives–no matter how ordinary they may sometimes seem and no matter how difficult they may sometimes be–is indeed a part of a plan much larger than ourselves and much more thrilling than we could ever imagine.

PRAY: This year we will explore the story of the persecuted church in North Korea, considered by many the most hostile-to-Christians country in the world. Together we will pray and support our brothers and sisters in North Korea, Cambodia, Indonesia and other persecuted places.

ACT: We will be challenged to live on mission–in our neighborhoods and to the nations.

ABOUT SECRET CHURCH

Years ago, David Platt taught and ministered among underground Asian house churches where believers were forced to gather in secret, sometimes at the risk of their own lives due to hostility from the government, from the surrounding community, and even from their own families. Secret Church is an opportunity for us to gather and intensely study the Bible and pray like and for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.

Radical’s Secret Church is a unique, one-night event that happens annually.

Encouraged by our persecuted brothers’ and sisters’ example, we will meet for nearly 6 hours for intense study of God’s Word and passionate prayer for the persecuted.

Cost is $20 which includes a boxed dinner from Chick-Fil-A, snacks and bible study materials. Register by April 15.

Red Hook, NYC Mission

Westmeade is prayerfully hoping to bring 22 people to do the work of the Gospel in Red Hook, NY with Redemption Church. The vision for Redemption Church is that they believe in God’s power to transform and renew broken communities and to restore relationships. Red Hook is a community in need of this kind of restoration. The hope is to keep the total cost to you under $325 with the help of the hoodie and other future fundraisers, as well as mission funds. A $250 non-refundable deposit is due at registration.

CORE seminars are an invaluable and indispensable part of disciple-making at Westmeade. Over time, the material taught in CORE will teach every basic and foundational truth that a Christian should know, live and share. CORE seminars are every Wednesday from 6:15-7:15pm and are for all ages.

Description: What is a church and what does it mean?

HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE

Description: Interpreting the Bible as instructed in the Bible.

MISSIONS

Location: Upper Room 2
Teacher: David Burdeshaw
Timeframe: 13 weeks, begins March 20
Description: God’s glory in all nations.

HOW TO GROW

Location: Fellowship Hall

Description: Christian growth through spiritual disciplines.

T-Shirts: (includes Westmeade “W” shirt, Westmeade Students shirt, Westmeade Kids shirt as well as Kids Praise shirt) The t-shirts are premium quality Bella Canvas brand shirts. Consider purchasing a size larger in the t-shirts as they are a slimmer fit and may shrink a little.
V-Necks: These are by Port & Company and are a ring spun fabric. The V-necks are women’s sizes only and run small – considering ordering 1-2 sizes up.
Long Sleeve T-Shirts: Also, by Port & Company made from ring spun fabric, these fit pretty true to size.
Hoodies: The hoodies are made by Port & Company and are a ring spun sweater material (very soft and comfy).
