Shoebox Ministry: Local & Global
It’s now time for the annual Operation Christmas Child ministry for children around the world. In addition to serving children globally, we will have the special opportunity of serving children in our own city through Holiday Hope Chest. These two shoebox ministries to children will run at the same time and will have the same basic instructions with only a few distinctions. This ministry will begin on Sunday, November 9, and run through Sunday, November 23. Ben Tinley is the point person for this ministry opportunity.
HOW TO HELP OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD (global)
There are 2 ways you can be part of the OCC ministry this year.
1. Take home a box, pack it full of items from the approved list, bring it back to the church by Sunday, November 23. (PLEASE remember to drop your shoeboxes off at the designated OCC Drop-Off Table in the sanctuary.)
2. Be part of the Drop-Off Location Team. As a Drop-Off Location, Westmeade receives boxes from all around our area, packs the shoeboxes in larger boxes, and hauls them to the regional location. Below are the dates and times we need volunteers.

HOW TO HELP WITH HOLIDAY HOPE CHEST (local)
In addition to OCC, this year we are partnering with Decatur Youth Services to pack shoeboxes that will be given out to kids here in Decatur. Just like OCC, you can pick up an empty box and a recommended supplies list in the Sanctuary. Holiday Hope Chest will have the same drop off date as OCC. Please fill the boxes full of things that meet the criteria on the information sheet and return them by Sunday, November 23. (PLEASE remember to drop your HHC shoeboxes off at the designated HHC Drop-Off Table in the sanctuary.) We are very excited about this partnership and hope that you will join us in it.
