Are you curious about how you can get involved with mission work through Westmeade? On Sunday, January 25 following the worship service, there will be an informational meeting for ANYONE who has an interest in participating in the following 2026 mission opportunities. Come to the meeting to learn more! Lunch will be provided so please register below.
Camp of Champions // May 29-31 // Shocco Springs in Talladega, AL
- Who: Families, students, adults…anyone who loves kids!
- What: Camp of Champions is an annual 3-day, 2-night summer camp at Shocco Springs for Alabama Baptist Children’s Home families in foster care and their children, providing fun activities like swimming, games, and faith-based learning for kids, while parents get crucial training and support, creating healing, memories, and a sense of community for these families. It’s a vital ministry helping foster parents cope and children experience joy, with volunteers playing a big role in making it happen. Each year more than 200 volunteers serve at Camp of Champions to help create special experiences for the families in care. Volunteers are essential in helping Camp run smoothly. There are several ways you can get involved – whether for a few hours or all three days – to help make incredible memories for kids in foster care.
- Cost: FREE
High School Senior Guatemala Mission Trip // July 23-30
- Who: High School Seniors (Limited space – only 4 spots available)
- What: We will be joining Danville Baptist, Grand Bay Baptist Church, and a couple other
churches to join efforts with a Grace Church in Guatemala to reach their community with
the gospel of Jesus Christ. Grand Bay and Danville Baptist have been partnering with this
church for nearly 20 years. They have developed close relationships with each other over
the years and are partners in the ministry. One of our primary efforts will be assisting Grace Church with building homes for the existing church members who are living in unsafe living conditions and making home improvement efforts. Without this team providing the resources and the money for this effort, many would live without decent shelter.
Another tremendous need is to love the children, students, and the church family.
Many need to see the love of Christ through the team. There will be qualified workers on the field to build a home. You do not have to be a handyman or woman to be qualified to go on this trip. You just have to be willing to help in whatever needs to be done. - Cost: $1200/person scholarships may be available. (Mission application and non-refundable deposit of $200 due by 2/1/25)
Lily House Safe Haven Anti-Trafficking Mission Trip // June 21-27 (travel dates TBD) // Dominican Republic
- Who: Ages 16 and up unless accompanied by a parent
- What: Since 2009, the Lily House has been walking the streets of the Dominican Republic sharing the Word of God & building relationships with trafficked, exploited and vulnerable women. The ministry provides Christ-centered safe housing (for adult women/children & preventative housing for vulnerable teen girls) where they provide counseling, daycare for children, furthering education, job skills training & workforce experience all in a healthy, safe environment. Mission team members will provide encouragement and discipleship to the Lily House girls as well as the local missionaries. The team will also feed local villages and nursing homes while distributing Bibles and sharing the Gospel. Another part of this mission opportunity is to plan and execute a VBS-like event for children in the local orphanage.
- Cost: $2,000 (scholarships may be available)
Redemption Church Mission Opportunity // Early Fall (exact dates TBD) // Red Hook, NY
- Who: Ages 16 and up unless accompanied by a parent
- What: We are prayerfully gathering a team of 10-15 people to serve alongside our partner, Redemption Church, in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Redemption Church is committed to God’s power to transform and restore broken people, bringing hope to families in need of the life-changing message of Jesus. Red Hook is a neighborhood where this mission is vital, and we are excited to be part of this incredible work. The biggest service project will be helping the school where Redemption Church meets host an Back To School Bash —a day filled with games, food, and community engagement. Throughout the week, we’ll also assist in food distribution through Redemption Church’s food pantry, connecting face-to-face with local residents and showing Christ’s love in action.
- Cost: TBD
