An Evening With Matt Papa

An Evening With Matt Papa // Sunday, March 1 at 6pm // Westmeade Baptist Church

Westmeade Baptist Church is thrilled and honored to host Matt Papa, a veteran songwriter and musician who has carved an even more unique space for himself as one of the world’s top modern-day hymn writers. With songs like, “His Mercy Is More”, “Christ Our Hope In Life And Death” and “Come Behold The Wonderous Mystery”, Matt tours regularly across the U.S. as a songwriter with Getty Music and frequently guests on their tours. A three-time Dove Award nominated artist, Matt is on a mission to write songs that are singable, beautiful and timeless. He currently serves as an artist-in-residence at Marco Presbyterian Church in Marco Island, FL, and most of all, is a husband and a father to 5 beautiful children.

We welcome anyone and everyone to join us for this night of worship led by Matt Papa!

ASL Ministry

American Sign Language Ministry at Westmeade

Only 1% of the Alabama deaf residents have access to the gospel of Jesus Christ. With the new Alabama School for the Deaf in Decatur, God has brought a mission field to Westmeade. We have started a Bible Study on Wednesday nights from 6:15pm-7:15pm that is interpreted for the deaf. If you or anyone you know has a hearing impairment or deaf, please invite them to join us. Misty Haskins or Bonita Smith will meet them in the elevator lobby prior to the start of class.

Westmeade now has ASL interpreting during our Sunday worship gatherings. If you would like additional information, please contact the church office at office@westmeadebaptist.org and they will get you in contact with Bonita Smith or Misty Haskins.

Parents of Tweens and Teens Book Study

PARENTING WITH HOPE – A Book Study for Parents of Teens and Tweens

Parents of teens and tweens are encouraged to join Corey and Katherine Bonds in the Refuge from 3-5pm on Sept. 21, Sept. 28, Oct.19 and Oct. 26 for a 4-session book study, using Melissa Kruger’s incredibly helpful book titled, “Parenting with Hope: Raising Teens for Christ in a Secular Age”. Participants will need a copy of the book, which you can pick up today in the book nook at a low cost.

If your Fall Semester is already filled to the brim, then make plans to join the Bonds for Round 2, which will be offered January 4, 11, 18, and 25 of 2026. We pray that this will be a time of growing in the grace and knowledge of biblical parenting together, for God’s glory to be made known in the lives of our teens!
