Deacon Ministry

Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.
They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is
nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. (1st Timothy 3:8-10)

Westmeade's Deacon ministry is committed to meeting the needs of every member. As a Deacon body we are dedicated
to serving God, our members, our Pastor and staff. We serve our church body by using a family ministry plan. This method
of ministry helps us to reach every member and build relationships. We strive to serve and minister in any way that we can.
We are also committed to reaching the community for Christ and encourage everyone to join us each Sunday as we go out
to share Christ.


Acts of Service
The Deacons are coordinating an Acts of Service ministry as an outreach to meet some real tangible needs within
our membership and the community.  Target groups for this ministry are shut-ins, cases of medical hardships,
senior adults, and single parent families.  Service opportunities could include minor home repair (such as carpentry,
plumbing, electrical, or painting), yard care for shut-ins or the medically disadvantaged, minor car service, or mentoring
needs for children of single parents.    Members are requested to identify particular service needs through their family
deacon or on the weekly bulletin tear-off.  All church members are invited to participate as service givers in areas of
personal interest.  Please make contact if you can help or know of specific needs.
